Gillis Named Interim Dean of Georgetown College

Georgetown University today announced that Chester L. Gillis, Professor of Theology and Joseph and Winifred Amaturo Chair in Catholic Studies, will serve as Interim Dean of Georgetown College for the coming academic year, effective July 1.
"Dr. Gillis is one of the most respected scholars in our academic community, and he brings a record of successful leadership to these new responsibilities," said Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia. "I know that as Dean he will provide strong and able leadership for Georgetown College and the entire University."
"I am pleased to assume these responsibilities and to continue the successful trajectory that Dean McAuliffe has established for Georgetown College," said Professor Gillis.
