Panel To Explore Role of Pope and His U.S. Visit

Ahead of Pope Benedict XVI’s first visit to the United States, three Georgetown scholars will ponder the meaning of his visit and the state of the papacy here and abroad during a panel discussion on April 15 at 7 p.m. in the Philodemic Room in Healy Hall.

The panel, sponsored by the Office of Mission and Ministry, will feature the Rev. John O’Malley, S.J., university professor; Marilyn McMorrow, R.S.C.J., visiting assistant professor of foreign service; and Chester Gillis, the Amaturo Chair in Catholic Studies, all of whom will discuss the impact of Benedict and his U.S. visit.
