Diversity, Unity Celebrated At Mass on Healy Lawn
August 27, 2008
With the bright late summer sun shining on congregants and the Healy Tower bells chiming their noontime song, Georgetown heralded in the new academic year on Aug. 26 with the Mass of the Holy Spirit.
Seeking blessings for the year is an 800-year-old tradition for Catholic universities worldwide, said the Rev. Philip Boroughs, S.J., vice president of mission and ministry. The Mass is one highlight of Georgetown’s Welcome Week events.
