New Environmental Biology Major Introduced

Georgetown recently expanded its biology offerings to include a new major in environmental biology.

Approved by the university’s board of directors in September, members of the class of 2012 will be able to apply to the major as sophomores in 2009-2010.

“Environmental biology is a growing field that encompasses the biological and geological processes that operate on our planet,” Provost James O’Donnell said. “The department of biology anticipates that the major will attract ‘liberal science’ students to the College, expanding both the numbers and types of students who study science at Georgetown.”
