Can I switch to a different school at Georgetown?

Q: I think I will love the College, but I’m still not sure what I want to study and want to keep my options open. Can I switch schools later?

A: We think you will love the College, too, but we know that your intellectual interests can take you in lots of different directions, and there is an intra-university transfer process. All students are required to remain in the school to which they matriculated for the first year of study, so the earliest students can apply is at the end of the spring semester. We recommend that you take some time to get settled academically in the fall, but you can discuss with your dean if you have an interest in another school/program and want to take courses that will help you to explore that interest.
