You may also take taxis to and from campus. On campus, taxis are generally available at the Healy Gates and adjacent to the Leavey Conference Center entrance.
A limited number of metered parking spaces are available on Reservoir Road, 37th Street and Prospect Street. Please pay attention to parking signs in the neighborhoods near campus, as the hourly limits are strictly enforced by the city with tickets issued if not observed.

Does my hotel reservation automatically register me for Parents Weekend?
No, you will only be registered for Parents Weekend events by completing the online registration form and paying the registration fee (and any lunches ordered) by credit card or check.
What information will I receive about Parents Weekend prior to our visit to Georgetown University?
A save the date postcard will be sent to parents of first-year students, sophomores, and transfers in mid-August. All other information will be provided online. Check back here frequently for schedule updates.
Once you arrive on campus for the weekend, you will receive a packet of information at check in, which will include a detailed schedule, campus map, and informational flyers about campus activities taking place while you're here.
If you have any questions prior to your arrival, please call the dean’s office at 202-687-6045 and ask to speak with the parents weekend coordinator.
Where can I pick up my information packet once I arrive on campus for the weekend?
Friday, October 18: Packet pick up and registration will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Bunn Intercultural Center (ICC) Galleria. Enter the ICC from Red Square. The College's registration tables will be directly ahead of you.
Saturday, October 19: Packet pick up and registration will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Bunn Intercultural Center (ICC) Galleria. Enter the ICC from Red Square. The College's registration tables will be directly ahead of you. If you arrive after the 9:30 a.m., the tables will move farther to the back of the ICC Galleria. Look for the College's tables to the left of the MUG coffee bar.
Are family members and guests welcome at all events?
Yes! Family members and/or guests are welcome at all events. They must be included in your registration (and if attending Saturday lunch, included in your payment).
When is the best time to arrive for the weekend? When should we plan to depart?
Parents Weekend begins on Friday, October 18. If your schedule allows, we suggest that you arrive on campus by early afternoon to be able to fully participate in the dean's reception and other on-campus activities.
Parents Weekend officially concludes on Sunday, October 20 with brunch at 10:00 a.m. Sporting events and performances will take place that afternoon, so you may wish to remain in town through the end of the day. However, many parents plan to leave in the late morning or early afternoon.
What is the dress code for Parents Weekend?
We see many styles of dress ranging from casual to business attire. We recommend that you dress in layers since Washington, DC, temperatures in the fall as well as in our buildings may vary.
Is there a Parents Weekend for junior and senior students?
The College's fall Parents Weekend is specifically for first-year, sophomore, and transfer students and their families. Because so many of our juniors study abroad, there is not a dedicated parents weekend for juniors and their families.
Seniors' families are invited to campus in February for a special separate parents weekend. These dates will be posted on the Georgetown website in the coming months.
I would like to provide an updated mailing address. How do I do so?
Ask your student to update their MyAccess profile with your new mailing information. This will update all the university's records at the same time.
Where can I go for a nice dinner in the area? What will be going on in the city over the weekend?
For more information about Parents Weekend 2013, please call the dean’s office at 202-687-6045 and ask to speak with the parents weekend coordinator.
