Welcome First-Year Students!
- The 2012 First-Year Options Brochure will be online shortly. Students interested in applying for an Ignatius Seminar or the Liberal Arts Seminar should review the brochure. Application instructions are included. The application deadline is Monday, June 11, 2012, 9:00 a.m. EST.
- The 2012 Guide to Preregistration will be online shortly. This guide will lead first-year and transfer students through the steps needed to successfully register for fall 2011 courses.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Has Georgetown received my Advanced Placement scores?
A: In mid- to late July, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will send a letter to all students for whom Georgetown has received AP score reports. If you do not receive this letter, please call ETS at 1-888-CALL-4-AP to have your score reports sent to Georgetown. If you have a copy of your score report at home, you may also mail it, fax it, or bring it in person to the College dean’s office in 303 Intercultural Center. Our fax number is 202-687-5712.
Q: What type of credit will I receive for my Advanced Placement scores?
A: In most cases, Georgetown awards exemption and/or credit for scores of 4 and 5 on Advanced Placement exams. Awards differ based on subject and major. Please do not register for a course if you anticipate that you will receive AP credit for that course. If you take a course at Georgetown for which Advanced Placement credit has been received, you will lose the AP credit previously awarded for that course.
Q: What should I do if I have problems with my NetID?
A: A NetID is required to log in to MyAccess and your Georgetown email account. Your NetID and password were mailed to you from the Registrar’s office. If you have questions about your NetID or have forgotten your password, please refer to http://netid.georgetown.edu/.
Q: What is a peer advisor?
A: Peer advisors are sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the College who can answer many of the questions you might have during the preregistration process. Your peer advisor will call or email you, but if you do not hear from him/her within two week of receiving your preregistration mailing, please go ahead and make the first contact.
