  • Instructions for pre-registration
  • Commencement reminders
  • Reminder to review the Degree Audit, through Student Access+
  • Seniors are asked to amend their expected date of graduation, should they expect to graduate later than May 2008. Note: August 2008 Degree Candidates are welcome to participate in the May 2008 Commencement. December 2008 Degree Candidates attend the May 2009 Commencement.

  • Letter to the home address with the Degree Audit (reflecting Spring 2008 courses). Students are urged to plan any needed registration changes during Spring Add/Drop in January 2008

  • Letter about Commencement Weekend to Seniors and parents of Seniors (mailed to the permanent address)

Early January 2008

Dean's Office Mailing #4; notice by email

  • A reminder to check your Degree Audit (reflecting Spring 2008 courses) through StudentAccess+ as you adjust your schedule of classes

January 2008

Degree Audits produced for May 2008 candidates

  • Degree Audits are printed following the end of Add/Drop for Spring 2008. Letters are mailed only to seniors whose Degree Audit does not clear. These students are directed to report to the Dean's Office immediately to review their status and address any problems in meeting degree requirements.

February 2008

Senior Parents Weekend (February 8-10, 2008)

  • Seniors will be able to pick up their caps & gowns and commencement invitations. Students will also have the opportunity to complete the senior survey and meet with representatives from the offices of Student Accounts, Student Financial Services, Registrar, MBNA Career Center and Alumni Association, among others.

Late February 2008

Graduation list posted; notice by email

  • The Dean's Office posts a tentative graduation list on bulletin boards and on the Georgetown College web site. Seniors should check the spelling of their names, degree and high school information for accuracy and report any correction(s) to the Dean's Office.

Early March 2008

Dean's Office Mailing #5; notice by email

Solicitation of nominations:

  • Edward B. Bunn, S.J., Award (chosen by the College Senior Class, this award goes to an outstanding member of the Georgetown College faculty)
  • Lambert H. Spronck Medal (chosen by the College Senior Class, this award goes to an outstanding member of the College Senior Class)
  • Dean McAuliffe sends a separate letter to the parents of seniors about Commencement Weekend, enclosing a list of events they may wish to attend

Early April 2008

Dean's Office Mailing #6; notice by email

  • Voting for the Bunn and Spronck Award recipients
  • Solicitation of information about post-graduation plans for the Tropaia and awards ceremony booklets

Late April 2008

Dean's Office Final Senior Mailing

By email, each Senior will be instructed to come to the Dean's Office, 108 White-Gravenor, to pick up this final mailing packet. Each Senior will be required to show ID and sign upon receipt.

  • Letter from Dean McAuliffe with details about Commencement and a schedule of events
  • Timetable and instructions for the Commencement Ceremony
  • Instructions for the Baccalaureate Mass
  • Rainsite tickets for Commencement (7 tickets per family)
