Bishop Braxton and “The Challenges of the Racial Divide in the United States”

March 31, 2015—On April 20, Georgetown will host “The Challenges of the Racial Divide in the United States,” a lecture featuring His Excellency, the Most Reverend Edward Braxton, Ph.D, S.T.D., Bishop of Belleville, Illinois.

Given numerous events across the country this year, Bishop Braxton will offer his own reflection on the racial divide in the United States today. He recently addressed this topic in the pastoral letter “The Racial Divide in the United States: A Reflection for the World Day of Peace 2015.” The letter and an accompanying study guide are available online.

The event will take place on Monday, April 20 at 5:00 p.m. in the ICC auditorium and is co-sponsored by Georgetown College Office of the Dean, the Office of Mission and Ministry, and the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life.
