Corine Forward (C’19) has always been fascinated by the concept of identity, especially identities that seem mysterious or idiosyncratic to most of the world. This interest brought her to one of the most obscure and isolated communities in the world: the Jewish community of Sefwi-Wiaswo, Ghana, which she is studying for a senior thesis.
Lawrence Huang (C’19) and Susu Zhao (C’19) each received a stipend that will help fund their academic and research expenses for the coming semester. The Gillis Award, named for the longtime Department of Theology professor and College Dean, honors students who exemplify the value of a liberal arts education in the Jesuit tradition.
The Georgetown College Office of the Dean hosted the final Sophomore Success Dinner of the year on November 1. The dinner brought four College alumni to campus to speak with about 30 current College sophomores about the lessons they learned during sophomore year.
