Finding New Solutions in Development Economics

December 16, 2013—The Georgetown University Initiative on Innovation, Development, and Evaluation (GUI2DE) is a new initiative to incubate and evaluate effective development solutions. GUI2DE is a joint effort between the Department of Economics and the McCourt School of Public Policy, but it also includes faculty from all over the university—the Walsh School of Foreign Service, the McDonough School of Business, and the School of Nursing & Health Studies.

GUI2DE gives graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to conduct field research in a wide variety of development projects. Co-directed by Associate Professor Billy Jack and Associate Professor James Habyarimana, the initiative currently has projects all over the world, including Kenya, Rwanda, India, Yemen, Nigeria, and Brazil.
