The College of Arts & Sciences Celebrates Its December 2025 Graduates

The College of Arts & Sciences celebrated its December 2025 graduates on Friday, Dec. 5 in a reception hosted in Copley Formal Lounge.

This December, 58 students are set to graduate from the College, with 51 receiving Bachelor of Arts degrees and seven receiving Bachelor of Science degrees. While the students can participate in the commencement ceremony next May, this reception celebrated their accomplishments and marked the end of their undergraduate experience.

“The December ceremony is like a gift to look around the Hilltop one last time and reflect upon how it’s shaped us all,” said Alexis Wu (C’26), a graduating senior majoring in biology of global health. “It reminds me what Georgetown has given me: lifelong friends, professors and deans who became invaluable mentors, and opportunities across all disciplines. That’s what I love most about Georgetown. I’m excited to come back and celebrate again with everyone in May!”

David Edelstein, the dean of the College, encouraged the graduating students be proud of being part of the College of Arts & Sciences and to remain connected with the Georgetown community.

For economics major Amber Barnes (C’26), the highlights of her time at Georgetown have been her friends, her roommates and being part of the Georgetown University Alumni and Student Federal Credit Union (GUASFCU). “It means a lot to be graduating,” she said. “My parents didn’t go to college, so I’m really, really proud to be graduating.”

During the reception, David Edelstein, the dean of the College, encouraged the students to take pride in graduating from the College of Arts & Sciences and emphasized the importance of a liberal arts education.

“The Jesuit and Catholic liberal arts education you’ve gotten here is going to provide you with human skills — critical thinking, collaboration and empathy — that will benefit you in the world that you are entering and far into the future,” Edelstein said.
