About the First Fellows Program

The First Fellows Program is a cohort-based, holistic program tailored specifically to the needs of first-generation students in the College of Arts & Sciences.

Comprehensive Support

The program provides students with a wide array of resources, including academic guidance, faculty mentors, connections to career pathways, and financial support for summer internships and employment opportunities.

The Power of Community

For all students, navigating the hurdles of higher education is a daunting task. For those who are among the first in their families to attend college, the experience can feel lonely and overwhelming at times. Recognizing this, the First Fellows Program amplifies belonging and community among students through a cohort-based model, which brings student fellows together from diverse backgrounds to forge lifelong connections and friendships. The First Fellows Programs aims to build a sense of belonging on the Hilltop through academic programming, specialized advising, weekly drop-in office hours, and support for summer opportunities.

The First Fellows Program is designed to augment and compliment existing programs at Georgetown. We are proud to collaborate with the Community Scholars Program (CSP), Georgetown Scholars Program (GSP), Center for Multicultural Equity and Access (CMEA), Office of Student Equity and Inclusion (OSEI), the Red House and the Cawley Career Center on events and activities.
