Dean Gillis Opens Home to Community
April 25, 2016—Georgetown College Dean Chester Gillis and his wife Marie opened up their home to the Georgetown community this past Saturday as part of the 2016 Georgetown House Tour.
“Having the College Dean’s house on the Georgetown House Tour connects us to the neighborhood in a new way,” Gillis said. “When Georgetown residents who participated in the tour walk by the house, they will identify it with the College and the University, know that we are part of the local community, and know that we value our relationship with this community.”
The annual event, which this year featured 10 houses in the Georgetown neighborhood, has served as a fundraiser for St. John’s Episcopal Church on O Street since 1931. This was Dean Gillis’ first time participating.
