Frieder Joins European Academy of Sciences and Arts
April 10, 2018 — Georgetown College is proud to announce that Professor Ophir Frieder, the Robert L. McDevitt and Catherine H. McDevitt Chair in Computer Science and Information Processing, has been inducted into the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Frieder, who holds a dual appointment at the Georgetown University Medical Center, is an expert in scalable information processing systems. A member of the Georgetown faculty since 2007, he also currently serves as a research associate at the Italian National Research Council and the Chief Scientific Officer for UMBRA Global Health.
The European Academy of Sciences and Arts is an independent transnational and interdisciplinary network of experts in sciences, arts, and religions. Founded in 1990, it counts among its members 31 Nobel Prize winners.
